The Interface Between Computer Science and Operations Research

The InfORMS Computer Science Technical Section will hold its fifth conference entitled "Computer Science and Operations Research: New Advances in the Interface," in Dallas, Texas, January 7-10, 1996. The meeting will focus on the latest developments in the confluence of OR and CS, including such areas as mathematical programming, artificial intelligence, parallel processing, heuristics, simulation, and stochastic modeling and programming.

The keynote speaker will be Fred Glover (University of Colorado at Boulder), and Tom Cook (American Airlines) will give a plenary talk. The meeting will have four simultaneous tracks of research presentations, including a state-of-the-art survey series, plus a software demonstration track. A Sunday afternoon workshop on LP and IP software is anticipated.

A book of refereed conference papers will be published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, and a copy distributed to each registrant.

The conference hotel will be the Harvey Hotel-Downtown, which is adjacent to the Dallas arts district and close to entertainment areas. Room rates are $69, for a single king.
