Invitation

The Association of Asian-Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS) was founded in 1985 to promote the development of Operations Research and its applications in all areas of the world, especially from the Asian-Pacific region.

The first three conferences have been hosted in the Asian Region, Seoul, Beijing, and Fukuoka. They have all been a success and well organized by the respective societies, KORS, ORSC, ORSJ. We, the ASOR, as the host of the fourth Conference, wish to congratulate all of our prior hosts and promise to do everything in our power to ensure that we maintain this tradition of excellence.

In constrast to the third conference which was located in the "centre" we now move to an extremity. This will be the first time the conference has moved to the Southern Hemisphere and Melbourne is the most Southern Capital City on the mainland of Australia.

We are pleased to announce that our sister southern society The Operations Research Society of New Zealand (ORSNZ) has offered their support in the running of the fourth conference. We look forward to increasing our ties with our friends across the Tasman as we work together on this project.
